On Yahoo Messenger I sometimes back up the similes and multicolored text to an Email I'm sending. I just bring up the Messenger, outline the text and smiley, copy CTRL C, Switch to the Email text editor in body then paste CTRL V. Maybe something like that will do what you wanna do. :)
